The Next Big Thing is Small: Ragasco’s new 2 kg composite cylinder
Sep 30, 2026

Ragasco is expanding its standard composite LPG cylinder range with a new 2 kg propane (5 lbs) cylinder. The compact size brings the benefits of composite technology to applications where space, weight and ease of handling matter.
With a diameter of 229 mm (9 inches) and a height of only 311 mm (12 inches), it offers a compact solution where storage space is limited, and corrosion is a continuous challenge. Its smaller size makes it well suited for boating and marine environments, camping, outdoor cooking and other LPG applications where portability and easy handling matter.
Users can now access a composite cylinder designed to simplify everyday handling while offering the durability needed for demanding environments. For example, many boat owners already carry a larger cylinder, such as a 5 kg (11 lbs) composite tank, for regular use. The new 2 kg size is a natural fit as a spare, compact and lightweight enough to keep on board without taking up the space of a second large cylinder. This approach helps provide peace of mind against running out of gas at sea without the need to carry additional large cylinders.
With the introduction of a 2 kg cylinder, Ragasco brings its proven composite technology to a segment traditionally dominated by steel cylinders. The composite material enables the product to be lighter, resist corrosion and handle easily. Its rust-free construction is particularly valuable in marine environments, where cylinders are often exposed to moisture, salt water and changing weather conditions. Its stackable design allows multiple cylinders to be stored efficiently in limited spaces.
The addition of the 2 kg cylinder expands Ragasco’s composite LPG portfolio to serve an even wider range of applications and user needs. Following its debut at Liquid Gas Week 2026 in Istanbul, the cylinder will be featured at industry events throughout 2026 and 2027.
